Does my UM tuition cover the program fee?

No, the UM tuition and program fee are separate.
How do I pay for the Start Abroad program?

The Start Abroad Office will share payment instructions once Fall 2026 bills are posted on the Office of Student Accounts website . Billing is expected to be released in mid-July, with payments due during the first week of August. Please note that dates are subject to change. Students will receive detailed information on how to make payments at the appropriate time.
Are payment plans or financial aid available for Start Abroad expenses?

No, scholarships or financial aid are not available for the Start Abroad program.
Can UM employees apply the tuition remission benefit on Start Abroad?

Yes! UM employees can use the tuition remission benefit for the Start Abroad semester. Contact the HR Benefits team for more information. Please note that the program fees are separate and not included in the benefit.
