Take the first step toward your Start Abroad experience by understanding the application process and requirements.

Spring Start students who have submitted their University of Miami enrollment deposit will have access to the application form through their UM Applicant Portal within a few days of submitting their deposit.

Students must complete the entire application form, as incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Process

1. Submit your University of Miami enrollment deposit for the spring semester.

2. Check your UM Applicant Portal for the Start Abroad application link.

3. Complete and submit the online application form by the stated deadline.

4. Wait for your Start Abroad admission decision, which will be sent by email at the end of May.

The application deadline is May 5, 2026 (11:59 p.m. EDT). Each Start Abroad location can accommodate a different number of students based on its capacity. Please note that space is limited and programs tend to fill quickly, as placements are offered on a rolling basis until each program is full. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance to the program.
