Staying on top of deadlines is essential to ensure a smooth Start Abroad experience. Below is a timeline of important dates, from application submission to program confirmation, that will help you plan ahead and stay organized throughout the process.

  • Application

    May 1 ➜ Submit your $500 non-refundable enrollment deposit to confirm your enrollment at the University of Miami for the spring semester.

    May 5 (11:59 p.m. EDT) ➜ Start Abroad applications are due. Late submissions are not accepted.

  • Start Abroad Decisions

    End of May ➜ Students are notified of their admission decision to the Start Abroad program.

  • Pre-Departure Requirements

    May 24 ➜ Deadline to submit housing form to Barcelona SAE (Barcelona program).

    June 3 ➜ Deadline to submit housing form to FIE (Dublin and London program).

    June 30 ➜ Deadline to submit housing form to AUR (Rome program).

    Throughout the summer ➜ Students will attend a mandatory virtual pre-departure orientation and information session.

  • Arrival & Departure Dates

    Arrival Dates

    August 25 ➜ Arrival in Rome.

    August 26 ➜ Arrival in London.

    September 9 ➜ Arrival in Dublin.

    September 14 ➜ Arrival in Barcelona.

     

    Departure Dates

    December 11 ➜ Departure from Barcelona.

    December 12 ➜ Departure from London.

    December 19 ➜ Departure from Dublin.

    December 12 ➜ Departure from Rome.
