Housing in Barcelona

In the Start Abroad in Barcelona program, students can choose between two housing options: a traditional homestay or a residencia (student residence hall). Both offer valuable experiences, and the right fit depends on your preferences and expectations.

Cards

Housing in Barcelona can be competitive and students will be placed based on availability. The on-site team makes every effort to provide you with your preferred style of housing, but due to space limitations they cannot guarantee you will get your first choice. Roommate requests may also be submitted but cannot be guaranteed. 

Important Dates

  • Deadline to submit housing form to Barcelona SAE: End of May* (Specific date to be confirmed)
  • Deadline to pay UM for housing: The housing cost is included in the Start Abroad in Barcelona Program fee, which is due by the deadline set by the Office of Student Accounts website. 

Payment

Your housing in Barcelona is included in the Start Abroad Program fee and must be paid directly to UM.
